For the 11th in the KFAX series Luca Lozano dusts off his old Variflex and scuffed elbow pads and ollies his way into the world of early skateboard logos. The birth and golden age of skateboarding and skateboarding competition saw a slew of newly formed companies jumping on the bandwagon in the early 60s and beyond. KFAX11 seeks to represent some of the those companies, some of which were short lived and some of which are still operating. As always with the KFAX series, the selection is in keeping with the overall style and represents the crudest and simplest of logos as well as the more established and professional looking ones.

Pelvis records is pleased to present ‘Purple Dialogue’ — the debut album from Melbourne’s own Mousse.A tech house knock & run, the album has Mousse rubbing his crayola against a mixture of VST + hardware synths to create an energetic party record that is 110% purple. The flutes of funk that herald the arrival of the Pied Piper of Purple, draw you naively into his world of invisible energy that breathes, heaves then leaves after 9 original tracks. The outcome of a paradigm shift in the producers life, its physical form is fittingly a photo ID with USB built in, containing the album plus additional remixes from Transit State, Hame DJ and Regularfantasy.creditsPELVIS · Mousse - Purple Dialogue LP (out now on Pelvis Records)

Dirty Dancing is the new book from Italian photographer Mattia Zoppellaro, that through a collection of stunning images vividly explores the European free party scene in its most exhilarating phase from the late 90s to the early 2000s. Published by electronic music label Klasse Wrecks and Berlin’s print and design studio We Make It, the book is an homage to the iconic faces, makeshift dancefloors, soundsystems and hairstyles that have come to symbolise the legendary movement. For years Zoppellaro has been documenting the European free party/techno scene. As an avid underground music fan and busy traveller Zoppellaro was not only a participant at the events but also a close member of this free roaming family. This has gifted him a unique and intimate access into the lives of the free party collective and everyone and everything they have touched along the way.Shot between 1997 and 2005, he found himself firmly in the fold and dutifully followed the convoy of battered old vans and suped up sound systems to the outskirts of cities such as London, Milan, Barcelona, Turin, Graz, Bologna and others. Mattia’s photographs respectfully record a unique and hidden subculture, one that existed outside the stringent rules and regulations of the mainstream nightlife and entertainment world. In this modern age, ‘Dirty Dancing’ serves as a nostalgic reminder of a not too distant past, where the emphasis was on the freedom to dance when and where you wanted regardless of uniformed expectations.Softcover with paperbag sleeveExposed thread sewn binding30x30cm115 PagesPrinted in ItalyPublished by Klasse Wrecks and We Make It 2021
During the early 90s, Jean-Louis Huhta aka electronic musician Dungeon Acid would visit London to catch the live and DJ performances of early Techno artists such as Carl Craig and Baby Ford. In the hours before the events he would walk the streets of the capital taking in the usual sights and sounds that travellers and tourists would enjoy. However, his exploration of the city went a little deeper than most, he began to notice the colourful and simple calling cards of sex-workers that were plastered all over the inside of the iconic red London telephone boxes that populated the areas surrounding the centers tube stations. Over the years Jean-Louis would add to his collection with various visits to the capital and still to this day trades the cards and collects them whenever he finds them. KFAXXX revisits his substantial collection over 100+ pages printed on a variety of coloured paper with coloured ink that replicates the duotones of the original cards.KFAXXX serves as an archive of the crude and archaic design practices of the early 90s, safeguarding the imperfect fonts and illustrations that were used widely throughout the underground.110 pages, measuring at 10x14cm and printed on yellow, pink and white 80 g/m² EOS paper with pink glue binding

Mechanical Reproductions stay true to their original mission statement of being ‘an outlet for editions of print and vinyl’ and, for their third release, serve up a 48 page archive of some of the posters created by Young Echo’s Amos Childs & Sam Barrett for the long running nights the collective have been running since 2010.‘Heavyweight Champion is the result of six years’ collaborative collage works for Bristol’s Young Echo collective. The collective’s 12 members have been running club nights, radio shows and releasing music since 2010. Two of them, Amos Childs & Sam Barrett (who also make music together as O$VMV$M), have been responsible for creating the posters to promote the club nights since the start. These posters are a regular fixture in the visual landscape of the city, on walls, bins, bus stops and pretty much any other available surface in the lead up to each event. Their informal visual language immediately sets them apart from the other flyers vying for attention. They’re intriguing: through not having the artist names featured as prominently as possible they encourage the viewer to take a deeper look. There’s dense layers of images and cut-and- pasted phrases to be deciphered – ultimately a far more engaging experience than being shouted at by a generic and large-fonted neon specimen. Thanks to the local council (and keen fans who would rather see them on their walls at home), more often than not these works are gone soon after they’re tacked up, meaning the only archive of them is as low resolution images on various social media channels. ‘Heavyweight Champion’, then, aims to provide a lasting document of this unique and vital part of Bristol’s musical culture…’A448 pagesFull Colour300gsm cover100gsm evolution uncoated inner pages

KFAX9: Thrash Metal Demo TapeKlasse Wrecks' KFAX series continues with KFAX9: Thrash Metal Demo Tape, a homage to early metal mania and the DIY tape scene. Over 100 pages of hand-drawn logos, tape cassette art and innocent illustrations are lovingly risograph printed with a typical KFAX style curation.150 pages, measuring at 10x14cm and invert printed on white 70 g/m² EOS bible print paper, spot varnish cover and with black glue binding.
KFAX7: Record Label Logo Archive Vol.2Luca Lozano is back with another bumper selection of weirder and more obscure electronic music record label logos. Following up on the success of the first volume, KFAX7 draws together logos from his collection and treasures he's found on his travels.100 pages, measuring at 10x14cm and printed on yellow 70 g/m² EOS bible print paper and with black glue binding.
KFAX5 Rudeboys: Mascots of the early hardcore jungle rave scene.During the early to mid-90s the Jungle mascot became almost as ubiquitous as the breakbeats themselves, a stamp of respected credibility and authenticity of the music's street value. Championed by labels such as Suburban Base, Boogie Times and Ruff Kut the low slung, baggy trousered and baseball capped characters embodied and encapsulated the tough outsider attitude of the scene at the time. For the fifth edition of Klasse Wreck's KFAX series record-trainspotter Resampled aka Joe Reilly provides an army of the both well and lesser known figures that appeared on the record's center labels.70 pages, measuring at 10x14cm and printed on 70 g/m² EOS bible print paper and with green glue binding.
KFAX4 Logos of the Early Computer Software ScenePlanetluke.com, the graphic arts alter ego of Luca Lozano provides the fourth in Klasse Wrecks’ KFAX zine series. KFAX4 is a follow up to the record label logo collection of KFAX3 and is manifested via a 70 page, 10x14cm risograph printed, red glue bound booklet. For this collection, Planetluke.com has delved deep into the obscure and unlikely field of computer software company logos of the 70s and 80s. A burgeoning and undeveloped scene, the 300+ logos are often naive and amateurish in quality and look and provide the perfect follow up to the similar logos in the previous zine. Be sure to back-up that brain as halfway through the zine gets ‘hacked’ and overtaken by logos and graphics from the underground hacker and warez scene!!Measuring at 10x14cm and printed on 70 g/m² EOS bible print paper and with red glue binding.
KFAX3 Record Label Logo Archive Vol.160 page risograph printed book compromising of over 300 record label logos, collected and compiled by Luca Lozano. Focusing on the innocent and naive graphic design of certain smaller, independent and sometimes long forgotten record labels.Measuring at 10x14cm and printed on 70 g/m² EOS bible print paper and with black glue binding.
